Rooms & Rates
What types of rooms are available in the hotel and what are the differences between the rooms?
The hotel has four categories: superior, deluxe, junior suites, and suites.
Superior rooms are located on the 3th to 6th floors and deluxe rooms are located on the 6th to 7th floors. In addition to the facilities avaialble in our superior room category, deluxe rooms offer superior comfort amenities, as well as a DVD player.
All the superior, deluxe and suite guest rooms are stylishly furnished and include the following features:
- Air conditioning with individual controls
- Private bathroom with bath and shower
- Satellite T.V.
- IDD telephone
- Mini-bar
- Personal electronic safety box
- In-room tea and coffee
- 24 hour room service
- Internet access
- Pay per view movie

Are your hotel rates per room or per person?
The rates charged are per room although the cost may differ slightly for single, double and triple occupancy.

How much money do I have to pay for the supplement to upgrade the room?
The supplements for upgrading to the room are as follows:
- Superior to deluxe US$20
- Superior to junior suites US$ 40
- Superior to suites US$140

Does my room reservation require any guarantee?
All room reservations require a credit card guarantee.

How do I cancel my hotel reservation?
To cancel your booking without incurring any charge, please contact the Reservation Department by emailing: reservations@stjames.amaricom at least one day prior to your arrival. You will then given a cancellation number.

How many people can stay in one room?
Each guest room can accommodate a maximum of three guests. Please note that third bed will be a rollaway bed.

We regret that animals are not allowed to stay in guest rooms.

Does the internet rate include breakfast?

What are the standard check in and check out times at the hotel?
The standard check in time is 14.00 and check out time is at 12.00 noon. However, if you are arriving earlier than 14.00, we make every effort to ensure that a room is available for you, although this cannnot be guaranteed.

Is it possible to check-in?
It is sometimes possible to check in earlier, however, this depends on availability and cannot be guaranteed. To be sure to have the room ready upon arrival, you can reserve the room from the night before.

Do you provide a service for late check-out?
It is possible to have late check out and the charges are follows:
- Check out before 18.00: 50% charge (based on the overnight rate)
- Check out after 18.00: full over night late.

Do you offer short stay rates for day use?
Day use of the rooms is available and is charged at Bht.1,500 for 6 hours. This service is available from 06.00 -19.00.

Do you have twin and triple rooms?
Both of these room types are available.

What is the cost of putting an extra bed in the room?
The cost of putting an extra bed is US$ 15++, including American breakfast for the additional person.

King size beds are available and should be requested at check in.

Do you have rooms with a bathtub?
Yes, all guest rooms have a bathtub.

All the guest rooms have a safe deposit box which is the available free of charge.

Is a baby sitting service available?
Yes, a baby sitting service is available. The cost of this is Bht. 170 for one child and Bht. 200 for two children. 5 hours advance notice is requested.

The American and Japanese breakfast buffet is served at the Garden of Eden restaurant from 5.00 - 10.30 am.

How long does it take to get a taxi/limousine from the airport to the hotel and approximately how much does it cost?
It will take time about 45 minutes from the airport to the hotel. A taxi will cost around 400 baht and a limousine costs 650-750 baht.

If I take a hotel limousine from the airport, will I be met by a member of Amari Hotels and Resorts staff?
Yes, we have staff on duty at the airport to meet all our arriving guests and to escort you to the limousine. The representative wears a red jacket and carries an Amari and St. James sign

Tourists are able to claim back the VAT on larger purchases when they exit the country. Most department stores can assist you in arranging a refund.

The tap water in Thailand is not potable. Complimentary drinking water is provided in all guest rooms.

What is the weather like at different times of the year?
As a general guideline, the water in Thailand is warm all year round. However, the weather is generally most pleasant from November to February when they are clean skies and sunshine. The hot season is from April and May, when temperatures reach their highest. The rainy season is between June and September. It doesn't rain everyday and usually the rain only lasts for an hour or so in the evening.

What should I wear in Thailand
Thai people are quite modest. Conservative dress is recommended. Shorts and sleeveless vests cannot be worn to visit the temple.

Are there any golf courses near the hotel?
The nearest golf course is The Royal Dusit Golf Course on Pitsanulok Rd. which is 45 minutes from the hotel. We can arrange a golf trip for you including tee-off time, caddy and equipment plus transportation to the golf course. Please contact the Concierge for details at the Ext. no. 7.

SHOPPING AND TOURIST FACILITIES NEAR THE HOTEL
Are there any shopping centres near the hotel? And, if so, where are they?
Yes, Emporium Shopping Centre, one of the high end shopping centres in Bangkok is 5 minutes from the hotel. Others can be easily accessed by taking the skytrain.

How far is the hotel from the main shopping area?
Many shops are within walking distance. Alternatively, take the sky-train which is five minutes walk from the hotel and can get you all over the city in minutes.
