Announcing Amari’s “Colours & Rhythms” Facebook photo competition, where fans stand the chance to win a trip to any of Amari’s Thailand-based properties, be it Bangkok, Koh Chang, Pattaya, Samui, Phuket, Krabi or Hua Hin.

Entrants are asked to select a photo which best represents the “Colours & Rhythms” of their life along with a caption and email it to amarism@amari.com (limit of 1 photo per person) before 30 September 2011. Photos will be posted on the Amari Facebook page and those which create the most buzz will be selected and evaluated by a panel of Amari Executives, with the top three announced on 14 October 2011.

The winner will experience a 3-night stay for two persons including all meals (breakfast buffet and set meals for lunch and dinner) and a 1.5 hour spa treatment. Second place will receive a 2-night stay for two persons including a daily breakfast buffet, set dinners and a 1.5 hour spa treatment. Third place will receive a 2-night stay for two persons and a daily breakfast buffet. (Prize must be used by 1 April 2012)

ONYX HOSPITALITY GROUP TO MANAGE AMARI RESIDENCES PATTAYA 8/26/2011 6:23:00 AM

 

ONYX Hospitality Group, Asia’s leading hotel management company, has been appointed to manage a landmark 135-room mixed-use development project in Pattaya under its cornerstone, mid to upscale Amari brand. Currently known as The Legend, the distinctive 35-storey property has been renamed Amari Residences Pattaya. Construction will begin in 2012 and when it opens in late 2014, the property will feature 140 privately owned residential condominiums and 135 Amari-managed serviced apartments, all offering distinctive views of the Pattaya Bay. Facilities will include an international restaurant, state-of-the-art gymnasium and outdoor swimming pool.

AMARI MARKS THE SUCCESS OF E-COMMERCE STRATEGY BY LAUNCHING MOBILE SITE 8/25/2011 5:18:00 AM

 

Amari, the centrepiece of the ONYX portfolio of hotel brands, has recently developed a highly-targeted mobile site enabling users to access the Amari website via mobile phones. The mobile site conveniently supports iPhone, Android, and other mobile operating systems.

The website was launched on 20 July 2011 and has seen traffic of about 350 persons per day. At present the mobile website has successfully generated more than 300,000 THB with most bookings coming from Thailand, Australia, and Malaysia.

All traffic from smart phones will be automatically redirected to the mobile version unless a user actively chooses to use the normal website. All Amari properties are bookable through the site with secure credit card payment options.

The project was completed internally without the assistance of an outsourced company and is the result of ONYX Hospitality Group’s pioneering e-commerce initiatives that have generated a staggering 52% increase in revenue since 2008.  The integration of the group’s website, blog and social networks with content-driven online advertising has made ONYX a digital marketing leader in Thailand’s competitive hospitality industry.

NEW GENERAL MANAGER FOR ONYX HOSPITALITY GROUP’S AMARI VOGUE KRABI 8/25/2011 5:15:00 AM

 

 

Thailand-based ONYX Hospitality Group has appointed Michael Vogt as the new General Manager of Amari Vogue Krabi, an intimate 57-room resort with elegant Lanna-inspired architecture in a beautiful garden setting. 

From May 2011, Mr Vogt will officially take over from Simon Dell, who will go on to manage the upcoming Amari Hua Hin resort.  In his new role, Mr Vogt will be in charge of all operations at the five-star Krabi property.

With more than 14 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, Mr Vogt began his career with front office management roles in his native Switzerland before becoming Deputy Director in charge of Rooms Division and Spa at the Grand Hotel Bellevue in Gstaad,

Moving to Asia in 2005, Mr Vogt joined the 50-room Layana Resort in Krabi, Thailand, as Resident Manager before becoming GM three years later.  Under his management, the property would win TripAdvisor.com’s ‘Best Luxury Asia’ award four years in a row as well as two World Luxury Hotel Awards.

Mr Vogt now takes the reins at Amari Vogue Krabi, located on the pristine Tub Kaek Beach and just a 30-minute drive from Krabi’s town centre.  Set right on the beach and overlooking the Andaman Sea, the picturesque resort offers a range of holiday experiences, from romantic weekend getaways to family vacations. 

Mr Vogt was formally educated at the Swiss Hotel Management School, Lucerne, in north-central Switzerland.
