Mr Peter Henley, President & CEO of Amari Hotels and Resorts, has announced the appointment of Mr Roland Henkel, as General Manager of Amari Palm Reef Resort, Samui.

Mr Henkel, a German national and graduate of International Hospitality Management in Switzerland, brings a wealth of experience to the resort. Before joining Amari, he held managerial positions in international hotels and resorts, including the USA, Germany, Egypt and the West Indies.

In early 2006, he joined Amari Hotels and Resorts as Executive Assistant Manager Rooms Division at the 5-star Amari Watergate Hotel, Bangkok.

Mr Henkel now oversees the smooth running of the very popular Amari Palm Reef Resort, Samui.

On Friday 30th January 2009, ItalThai Food and Beverage Solutions, Cranswick Wines, Riedel Glass Company and Amari Rincome Hotel held an exclusive wine dinner at La Gritta Restaurant, Amari Rincome Hotel.

The six-course wine dinner was enjoyed by over 100 residents of Chiang Mai, including such delights as a combination of Australian beef and lamb on raspberry essence with potato noodles and poppy seeds. The meal was superbly topped off with a coffee and almond mousse au chocolate, with kiwi coulis.

Each course was further enhanced by a beautiful selection of wines from the Cranswick Wines vineyard in Australia, thoroughly enjoyed by all!
